Born on the 15 th September 1946 in San Saba Texas. His first schooling was on a scholarship at St Marks School of Texas a prep school for boys. Then he gained a scholarship at Harvard where he received a B.A in English Literature and he also roomed with the future vice president Al Gore. From there he moved to New York and began his theatrical career on Broadway in “A Patriot For Me”. He then got his first major screen debut as Hank Simpson- Love Story.

But in the 70's his major break through was on a soap opera which he was on for 5 years. When he left there he moved to Los Angeles which was one of the best moves he ever made because the film roles just started flooding in playing characters such as Coley Blake- Jackson County Jail, Cpl John Neville- Eyes Of Laura Mars, Doolittle “Mooney” Lynn- Coal Miners Daughter, Starbuck & Rainmaker. He has also starred in an episode of Charlie's Angels.

By the early 80's he had been married and divorced twice he had met both his wives on film sets of his films. But his movie career was going through it's finest hour as he was quickly becoming one of Hollywood 's greatest assests starring in roles such as Gary Mark Gilmour- The Executioners Song, George Cole- The Big Town, Moses Cooper- April Morning, Thomas Boyette- The Package & Eddie Mallard- Gotham .

By the 90's the roles were going from one blockbuster to another starring in roles such as Clay Shaw- JFK, William Stranix- Under Siege, Jake Beerlander- House Of Cards, Samuel Gerard- The Fugitive, Dwight McClusky- Natural Born Killers & Mike Roark- Volcano.

And finally probably one of his most famous roles was alongside Will Smith as Agent K monitoring Earth's alien activity in the film Men In Black. He is of course:
