This person was born on the 8 th October 1949, in Leroy Hospital of New York. She grew up on the wealthy Upper East Side surrounded by nannies and maids. In her first 10 years she had lived in 30 different locations and she remembers each one because she became best friends with the elevator man in every place. She first went to school at Brearly's Girls Academy. Then the family moved to Connecticut where she went to school at the elite Ethel Walker School. She moved on to Stanford University to study English at the same time she joined a local theatre group doing parts in plays like The Tempest and King Lear and she was a natural. She had great imagination and she even dressed as an elf for a term and lived in a tree house with her boyfriend! She then joined Yale School Of Drama and she got her first main acting role as Avis Ryan in a Daytime TV soap called Somerset.

Then in 1977 she got a role in the Woody Allen film Annie Hall but was only in it for 6 seconds. But amazingly from that short appearance the film roles started coming in she played characters such as Tony Sokolow - Eye Witness, Jill Bryant - The Year Of Living Dangerously, Catherine De Voto - Deal Of The Century & Doctor Lauren Slaughter - Half Moon Street.

In 1983 after throwing one of her famous parties she met Jim Simpson who she married at Pat Weavers Long Island Yacht Club not long after they had met. It was also around this time that her run in film roles begun.

She then made it on to the Hollywood Walk Of Fame earning her own star. She was also nominated for 3 Oscars unfortunately not winning any but she did win a BAFTA award and also 2 Golden Globe Awards. Some of the other roles that she portrayed were Claudia Hoffman - Snow White, Alice Goodwin- A Map Of The World, Daisy Quimp - Company Man & Dana Barrett - Ghostbusters 1&2.

Some of her more recent roles were as Con Artist Max Conners in which she was joined by Jennifer Love Hewitt as her daughter. Also she was in the spooky film The Village as Alice Hunt , but her most famous role which she which she has played 4 times is as Ellen Ripley or just plain Ripley as she was better known in the films.
