I was born on March 4th, 1948 in Ely, Cardiff, the youngest of 11 children to Jack and May Barratt. One day while playing cricket with friends, as one nervously was about to bat and made a few practise strokes he announced "And now, presenting…” a name which I thought would be a great rock name and was later to adopt. |

In 1969 with our brand of rock and roll, we backed The Rolling Stones at The Savill in London In 1977, I met the rock impressario Jack Good who asked me to play the middle period of Elvis Presley’s life in Elvis: The Musical While there, I met Freya Miller who was to become my manager from that point on after I signed a contract with her in 1979 |
