This person was born on the 7 th January 1964 in Long Beach, California. He was moved to San Francisco at the age of 12 when his parents divorced and was living with his father. Then a couple of years later he returned to Southern California to live with his mother, he attended Beverley Hills high school and it was while he was there he studied theatre which gave him his love for acting. He ended up leaving high school early to concentrate on acting full time. At the age of 17 he got his first small part in the film Fast Times At Ridgemount High. Then after that he got his first lead role as Randy in the film Valley Girls.

His acting career had now been released. He had unusual ways of achieving the realism of his roles as he once smashed a street vendors remote control car to feel the sense of rage for one of his roles. He had a run of films through the 80's some of the characters which he portrayed in this time were Smokey- Rumble fish, Vincent Dwyer - The Cotton Club, Sergeant Al Columbato - Birdy, Charlie Bodell- Peggy Sue Got Married, H.I.McDunnough - Raising Arizona & Ronny Cammareri - Moonstruck.

He has one Oscar for best actor, he has also been nominated for a Golden Globe Award plus two BAFTA'S . some of his co-stars found his acting methods a bit extreme as he just didn't want to act he wanted to change acting. Even with his unusual ways he was still one of the hottest stars around starring in roles such as Jack Singer - Honeymoon In Vegas, Doug Chesnic - Guarding Tess, Charlie Lang - It Could Happen To You, Ben Sanderson - Leaving Las Vegas, Rick Santoro - Snake Eyes & Tom Welles- 8MM.

Now the big offers started coming in so did the big money! Some of the characters which he played were Doctor Stanley Goodspeed - The Rock, Cameron Poe - Con Air, Seth- City Of Angels, Frank Pierce - Bringing Out The Dead, Jack Campbell - The Family Man & Randall Raines- Gone In Sixty Seconds. He then expanded his career and started to produce films as well such as Shadow Of The Vampire and The Life Of David Gale . Unfortunately his personal life was not as good as his professional one as he has been through many public breakups he has also been married twice.

Some of his more recent roles were Acid Yellow - Sonny, Roy Waller -Matchstick Men, Ben Gates - National Treasure.
