This person was born on the 19 th November 1961 in Fairfield Connecticut. She graduated from Bethel High School in 1979 as Prom Queen. Then she moved to New York where she went to New York University where she majored in journalism. To earn more money whilst doing her degree she did some part time acting which led to her getting her first big screen debut as Debbie in the film “Rich and Famous”

She then went to work in television for a time in the TV soap “As The World Turns”. Then in 1984 she moved to Hollywood and onto another TV show called “Wildside ”. From there the film roles started coming in thick and fast, she played characters such as

She has also been nominated for a BAFTA and 2 Golden Globe Awards, at this time she also got married to her co star who she was starring with at that time and they had a child together. She also turned down the lead role in the film Basic Instinct which of course went to Sharon Stone.

In the late 90's and into 2000 she had a run of top Hollywood Blockbusters playing characters such as Catherine Boyd - I.Q., Kate- French Kiss, Captain Karen Emma Walden - Courage Under Fire, Maggie Rice - City Of Angels, Kathleen Kelly - You've Got Mail & Kate McKay - Kate & Leopold. She also supplied the voice of Anastacia in the Disney film Anastacia. She is ranked 94 in the top 100 movie stars of all time. And the Savage Garden song “All Around Me” was written for her because band member Daniel Jones is a huge fan.

And finally probably her most remembered role was when she played along side Billy Crystal as Sally in the film When Harry Met Sally. The restaurant scene from that film will be remembered for years to come she is of course
