He was the 5 th born of nine children and as children he and most of his siblings worked as caddies which helped to pay his tuition fees to Loyola Academy . Then he enrolled at Regis College in Denver to study Pre-Med but dropped out after only a few months as he was arrested for possession of Marijuana. In the early 80's his movie career really hit the big time starring as characters such as Dct Hunter S Thompson - Where The Buffalo Roam, Carl Speckler - Caddyshack, Lefty Schwartz - Loose Shoes, Jeff Slater - Tootsie & Arthur Denton - Little Shop Of Horrors. He met his first wife at this time and they had two children together. He was also know for rubbing film collaborators up the wrong way as he had a tendancy to re-write scripts and improvise his way through scenes, but the collaborators admitted afterwards that the film was always better when he put his touch on it. |

In the late 80's he had a run of bad films and it was thought that his movie career had really hit the skids. But being the very determined person that he was he managed to pull his career back up and starred in some massive films such as Phil Conners - Groundhog Day, Frank Milo - Mad Dog & Glory, Ernie McCracken - Kingpin, Wallace Ritchie - The Man Who Knew To Little, Herman Blume - Rushmore & Francis Xavier Cross - Scrooged. In one of those films he starred alongside Robert De Niro but unfortunately in one of the scenes that they did he managed to break his nose!! He was married for a second time as well and they had 4 children together. He was also offered the lead role in the film Kindergarten Cop but turned it down as it eventually went to Arnold Schwarzanegger. |

He starred in a Broadway show alongside Sigourney Weaver in a play about a fireman who lost men in the 9/11 tragedy, this was eventually made into a film and Anthony LaPaglia played his role. He was still starring in many films as characters such as Ezri Stovall - Speaking Of Sex, Raleigh St Clair - The Royal Tenenbaums, Bob Harris - Lost In Translation & John Bosley - Charlies Angels. He also supplied the voice of Garfield in a film version of the cartoon series. |
