I was born on 14th March 1879 to a Jewish family in Württemberg, Germany

My family moved to Switzerland in 1894, but I stayed in Munich, to finish my schooling

At school I was good at the violin and mathematics, particularly calculus

In 1901 I began working as a Mathematics and Physics teacher at a Technical High School

I left Teaching in 1902, to work at the Swiss Patents Office in Bern

In 1905, I published three scientific papers

One concerned a formula that expressed energy in relation to mass, and the speed of light

This formula is E=MC²
